Lattan was born in Sydney Australia on December 15th, 1993. Her mother and father were famous historians, mostly specializing in Languages. They had named her Lattan, after the old language of the Romans, 'Latin' and felt it was clever. But Latt had always hated her name.
They didn't really pay ,much attention to her as a baby, Hiring a nursemaid to care for her. The nursemaid a pretty Hawaiian plume named Lilo. Lilo took care of her for two years, until she was fired one day, being suspected of having an affair with Hank Avery, her father...
The transition between being a two year old and being a three year old passed and Latt was ignored, given food and let to be by herself. Her mother allowed her to have one toy, a doll from the store, whom she was only allowed to play with. Latt's room wasn't very decorated, white walls and minimum bedding, almost like a hospital. But the number one rule Latt remembered from those repressed memories from long ago...was don't disturb mommy and daddy.
She never did find out why, not even up to that day in February...her life changed forever...
She was wakened in the middle of the night by surprisingly her mother. Her mother that night having no other words but 'Get up' and 'Get dressed and Pack your things'. Not knowing what was going on, Lattan obeyed and packed what she had. A few items of clothing, and her doll. Within an hour she was dragged out of the house, and into the car.
Latt was dragged onto a long plane ride into the morning, she never did notice that her parents never packed their belongs as she did, but she never questioned it.On the long plane ride, Her were parents cold the entire time. Latt was very confused but excited back then, having not left the house before this was an adventure in itself. Over the horizon with the sun coming up, that's when she spotted Hawaii...
When the plane landed, she was escorted by her parents to a cab and taken to a remote, suburban area of the island where she was dropped off in front of a white building. Latt remembers her father refusing to leave the cab and her mother dragging her to the stone steps forcefully with her bag of things. She remembers being sat down on the steps and being looked in the eyes by her mother. Her mothers eyes were the same crimson, and for a brief moment there was a hint of sadness and longing...
but it went away as quick as a passing wind.
It was then that she saw her birth parents for the last time, as her mom jumped back into the cab and they both drove away and for the first time Latt was alone, yet free....but at only 3 years old.
Later that morning Latt was greeted by the sight of her old caregiver Lilo, who had no idea Latt was even coming. Lilo tried to contact her parents, but they seemed to disappear. And after a few months, Lilo adopted her. And Lattan finally got to be with her true mom...
Being that Lilo was a native to Hawaii bloodline wise and traditional wise, lattan was raised by her in those same values. Most of the natives on the island didn't like Latt however, because Latt wasn't of Native origin. Lilo despite the negativity raised Latt the best she could in the traditional values she was raised by as a child, and one of the things she raised Latt on was Hula Dancing. Latt loved Hula as a child and often participated in recitals as a small child to teen.
Back then she was often seen in islander clothing, being dressed by her adoptive mother.
What added to Latt's bullying about now was the fact that because of certain events, Lattan has a hard time speaking. So growing up she had to also go through intense speech therapy.
