The little ballerino... |
Basics:Name: Daisuke Taomo
Origin of Name: From Japanese 大 (dai) ”large, great” and 輔 (suke) ”help”. Why was He named Daisuke?: Dai’s mother knew that he would great one day. She didn’t know how or even if he would succeed, but call it a mother’s hope and instinct. Gender: Male Species: Plumerian (PPS) PPS: perminent Puppy Syndrome, a disorder that means that the character diagnosed will not grow out of it’s ‘Puppy’ stage’. Characters with PPS syndrome are also unable to breed, but can be any age. A PPS character can be from 7 years old to 30 if possible. Eye color: Grey Fur color: Brown and White Feather color: White Nationality: Japanese-American His mother is American, His father was Japanese supposedly. Dai doesn’t know for sure however. Religion: Brought up Christian. Is Atheist Dai’s mother allowed him to choose what he wanted to do spiritually. She never forced Dai to commit to anything religion wise. Growing up His mom took him, willingly, to a few sermons from his mother’s parish but when Dai was old enough to choose, he gladly accepted that he was not interested in any religion. Being that his main focus was dancing, he felt it was a little bit of a waist of time to do such things. Hometown: Las Vegas, Nevada Las Vegas, residentially is a city full of many families and culture. Dai actually has a fondness for Vegas, even though most of the dancers in his company constantly bad mouth it for being ‘Sin City’ and for ‘gamblers’. His earliest memory there is playing in a park under his mother’s watchful eye. Current Residence: New York, NY moved here after getting into ‘Complexions’ (His dance company). He is in his realm being in NYC, always a city boy at heart. He enjoys walks around the city, though, is terrified of the older subway trains that moan and creak. Being as small as he is, It’s easy for him to weave in and out of the larger crowds. However, the down side to living in the big apple is that he has to be extra careful at night, in fear of being mugged. So instead of walking home alone at night, a few of his dancer friends from the company walk with him to insure nothing bad happens. His NYC apartment is 1 Bdrm 1 Bath, His bedroom has a nice full sized bed with this bedset. His living room is decorated modestly (Like in the photo) But he tends to leave a few things lying about such as his ballet slippers, other dance shoes, leotards…Complexions helps him out with the pay so he may be able to afford this apartment, being that it’s 2,000 a month and he was brought up in a poor family. It’s basically a scholarship fund they give to all their lower income dancers and staff. But sadly, Complexions cant really help him with food. So Daisuke scrounges around and practically lives off ramen and the small portions of lunch they serve to the dancers at the studio each day. Mother: Geneviva Taomo (American) (Deceased) His mother brought him up singlehandedly. Geneve supported him through his classes and was there for him most of his life. She died in a plane crash however flying to see one of his dance company’s concerts in NY when Dai was 21. Dai now dances for his company in her honor. Father: Hoircho ???? (Japanese) (Deceased/Unknown) Dai’s mother met Hoircho in Vegas where Dai was born and raised. Hoir, however left his mom before Dai had the brain to remember him. Dai never really thinks of ever having a dad, and regards him more of a stranger. Dai honestly doesn’t want to know if he lives, or died… He’s happier not having a dad in all honestly. Sexuality: Pansexual/Panromantic Pansexuality, is sexual attraction, sexual desire, romantic love, or emotional attraction toward people of any sex or gender identity. Dai has identified as pan since he was about 14 years old. Panromantic, a person who is romantically attracted to others but is not limited to sex or gender. Partner’s gender does little to define a relationship. Dai mostly seeks a romantic relationship, not sexual, in another. But as of right now, he is uninterested in those things of this time and age. Birthday: July 30 Planet: Sun Birth Stone: Ruby Zodiac: Leo "Leo is the fifth sign of the zodiac. Leos love being center stage so their impossible to miss! Making an impression is job one for leos, Leos are an ambitious lot, and their strength allows them to accomplish a great deal. Its common to see a Leo on stage or in Hollywood, since they never shy away from the limelight. Leos are extremely talented and have a flair for dramatic. " - astrology . com I think his birthday choice and zodiac suites Dai very well. Dai is very much a Leo through and through. Favorite color: Blue Likes these colors: Silver, Gold, white, browns Wouldn’t be caught dead with these colors: Orange, Red Favorite Music: Classical covers, Piano guys Dai’s taste in music solely has to deal with his influence Ballet wise. As a kid he listened mostly to the music from both the nutcracker and swan lake. But when he got into more intermediate classes, he was introduced to more modern music covered by Pianists and Orchestras. He now listens to a lot of covers done by ‘The Piano Guys’ (or if you have the music on, what your listening to right now) Favorite item: Handkerchief His handkerchief was basically just like his baby blanket. He keeps it with him even today. Its a pale blue with darker blue spots all over it. Occupation: Professional Dancer (Ballet) Dai dreamt of being a professional ballet dancer. But his size made it extremely hard to find a company that would take him. He is now working up the ranks to his ultimate goal of Prima Ballerino Assoluta. Allergies: Peanuts, Animal dander, Pollen With peanuts, he will puff up like a balloon within five minutes. Animal Dander gives him itchy and swelled eyes, Pollen just makes his head hurt. |
Personality:Loyal
Daisuke is Loyal to those he trusts. As a child he was betrayed by a few kids he once called his friends because he was interested in dance and that was a ‘girly’ thing. Now Dai is only Loyal to those he trusts with all his heart so he wont lose anyone every again. Among those he is loyal to was his Mother, His instructor, some of the girls in his company, and his brother Alesky. Determined From the day Dai first discovered Ballet, Dai has always been determined to achieve success for his dream. Even when he was ridiculed for being a male dancer, he never lost sight of his goal, and is working hard to achieve it. Optimistic Dai trys his hardest to stay optimistic. And so far he has been. If it’s a rainy day, he thinks of it as more time to practice in the studio. If he’s sick? no problem! He’ll be better in no time. Stuck in an elevator? Psh no problem, sing along to the snazzy music~ The repairmen will come eventually. kind Something that could be a flaw is his Kindness. Dai is a very kind plumie, helping out his friends the best he can in most situations. Lending them a hand when they need it, And giving them Kind feedback about their dancing skills. easily manipulated The flaw in his Kindness is that he is easily manipulated, or often taken advantage of. When he falls victim to this he stays silent, however in fear of losing a friend. dense Also being that he is easily manipulated, Dai is also very Dense headed about things. He often doesn’t process things easily, and cant read the atmosphere that well. So if a plume likes him? and is flirting? Nah, he would just think they’re friendly. Reckless Daisuke’s biggest flaw is that he can be extremely reckless about things. Especially in a situation where he feels trapped by stress. He’s not afraid to aim at something without thinking first, and sometimes its extremely stupid. Like that one time he ran across the road for ice cream as a child and almost got hit by a car. What else???Feelings towards Politics?
Daisuke never has cared about political things. He’s registered as an independent voter but he leans more to being extremely liberal. Dai is also a huge activist for feminism, being he was teased and bullied as a child for dancing ballet. Feelings towards Family? Dai was very close to his mother. His mother was there for him almost his entire life, or at least from when he was a puppy to his late teens. She was basically the only family he knew really, when he turned twenty-one, his Mother died however… He never knew his father and never really honestly cared to know about him. Feelings towards Friends? Dai, when he gains a friend. Is extremely loyal to them. Because of his abandonment issues, Dai will do almost anything for his friends. Dai loves and respects them and will never betray them, his best friends a few plumes, one of them named Buziba whome is a PPS plumie just like him. Likes about self? Dai likes his size, at first it was annoying being how small he was. Reaching for high places, being called too short to ride on rides at the fair, being cuddled and cooed at randomly… Dai likes that he enjoys ballet so much, because dancing keeps him in shape giving him the power to eat whatever he wants..in most cases. Dislikes About Self? Dai dislikes how easily manipulated he could be. He hates how he has trust issues and how hard it is to live in a world in showbiz. Sometimes he wishes he took a different path then ballet, but he doesn’t regret it. Types of Food Likes? Dai likes sweet things, but he has to keep in shape and eat healthy to stay in shape for dancing. So he enjoys eating fresh fruit, nicely grilled meats. Salads….He mostly eats chicken more than any other meat. As for drinks he loves fruit smoothies, the occasional Dr. Pepper (but only on occasion…he doesn’t drink soda too much) and drinks a lot of Vitamin Water. Types of Food Dislikes? Dai cant really stand beans or rice. He has a hard time stomaching the smell of beans and rice, he’s never been very fond of. He also cant stand corn and peas. He refuses to tell people why, and honestly, he doesn’t know himself why he cant stomach these foods. He also hates alcoholic beverages and Gatorade. alcoholic beverages because he gets sick to his stomach and Gatorade, because Gatorade just has too much syrup. Goals? His goals growing up were to work hard and be the best dancer he could possibly be to become a professional ballet dancer. Now his goals as an adult are a bit different. He wants to love someone, he knows that being a PPS he cant really have any children but he does want to find someone to love and settle down. Maybe, he might even adopt one day, who knows. Strengths? Dai has strengths in his legs, he also has strength in his writing skills and some in his social skills. But all in all, Dai mostly has Weaknesses that he honestly shouldn’t have at all, like his anxiety or shyness. Major Traits? Dai’s traits physically are his small exterior, his cute face make most believe his age to be in elementary school, when in reality, he’s 25. As for non-physical, Dai is known to be extremely friendly in most situations but extremely introverted at first impression. When Dai talks to a stranger, it more quiet but if its to someone he’s known for a while, his voice is about as loud as anyone else in a crowded room. Minor Traits? Dai’s minor traits can be characterized by his fur markings, or his fidgeting. Dai tends to Fidget when nervous or in an uncomfortable situation. Another minor trait you may notice is him clicking his tongue distractedly, usually before a recital for his company. Pet Peeves? - Leaving half full cups of drinks lying around Dai, when having guests over cringes when someone leaves their drinks left sitting everywhere around his apartment, he doesn’t really know WHY it annoys him… He also cant stand dirty dishes, all of his dishes HAVE to be clean. |

He doesn’t know why himself, but it kind of addicting after not having it for long periods of time at a time. It also has to do with that its notolgic, his mother often drank Dr. Pepper, so it stuck with him. Favorite Excuse: "I have practice tonight so I cant, Sorry" He loves this excuse because for him, it’s very common for it to be true rather than not. Dai does often practice excessively, so whos to say he really does have practice? if he doesn’t they would never know, because of his common tendency to actually practice at those points each day. Favorite Food: Tiramisu He loves this dessert to death. Its lady fingers soaked in (alcohol free) rum and topped with cream and cocoa powder chilled in the fridge in a layered cake type way. Favorite Flavor: Coffee He enjoys having coffee, and if he didn’t have coffee he’d probably be very unapproachable each morning. He’ll eat coffee icecream, coffee candy, drink many different kinds of coffee. He just loves it. Favorite Movie: Step Up (1st movie, not the sequels) He likes the theme of the movie. He usually isn’t one into romance type movies, but the story line got to him and his interest in the dancing world led him to really connect with a few of the characters. Favorite Music genre: Classical versions of pop, if not that, indie is cool for Dai as well. He enjoys these versions because Dai enjoys creating imaginary routines in his head for himself as he’s listening to the music. Favorite Number: 4 He believes it to be his lucky number. He doesn’t even know why himself, he just, does. Favorite pastime: Practicing Dance or goofing off. Least favorite Animal: Rats disgusting, infested, dirty, stinky…he hates these things with a passion. They were all over the abandoned firehouse he lived in with his mom. When he sees one, he makes sure that he’s at least 20 feet away before he’s ok. Least favorite Arts: Piano Dai could never get into Piano…or any instrument for that matter. The keys deemed too confusing and he never really understood key signatures or the C scales. He loves to listen to it, he hates playing it. Least favorite Band: Black Eyed Peas Dai really hates this group, not because of the music genre, even though he doesn’t like hiphop, but for the fact that he doesn’t think it’s true ‘music’. Least favorite Book: Fault in our stars, John Green He hates it, he tried reading it but it was too sad for him. Daisuke really hates sad things and what made it worse was that it was a sad romance. Dai tried reading as a suggestion from one of the other dancers but he had to stop halfway through, especially after getting spoilers from one of the other girls about the end of the book. Least favorite Country: Russia He doesn’t mind the culture, its just not a desired place for him to really visit. Least favorite Drink: Gatorade even though he needs to be hydrated for his dancing, he really hates gatorade. He thinks its syrupy and godawful and complains that it only makes him thirstier. Least favorite Excuse: "Umm bye gotta use the restroom" He thinks this excuse is overused way too much and can easily decipher what the other person means by using it. Even when Dai is as dense as he is, and he finds out that someone used this excuse, he gets really irritated. Least favorite Flavor: Grape hates it. It reminds him too much of much of medicine. Cough syrup, moltrin…all that stuff. Grape was often the only one found in the stores when he was younger so he really had no choice. Least favorite Movie: Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Lightening thief (poor representation of the book) Dai, who followed the book series because of his love of fantasy and mythology was extremely disinterested in the Percy Jackson movie series. He felt it was poor representation of the books and an abomination to book-to-film type movies. Least favorite Musical Genre: Rap/HipHop Dai hates rap and hiphop with a burning passion of a thousand suns. Not for any reason but the fact that he doesn’t personally believe it to be real music. Least favorite Mythical Creature: Syren He use to have nightmares about these creatures luring him in with their songs. He really hates these creatures, and thus hates the sea. If he never goes to the sea he will never meet a syren right? Least favorite Number: 1 one, is the loneliest number that you’ll ever see…he hates that number, alone without 2… he just hates being alone in general. Least favorite Pastime: Doing nothing at all. Daisuke always has to do something, let it be dancing or watching TV or heck, being online. He always has to have some kind of activity at all points of the day. Least favorite Place: The bank who seriously loves the bank. Least favorite Quote: "asta la vista" he’s never cared for this quote, he doesnt even get what exactly it means anyways. Least favorite Restaurant: McDonalds greasy fast food, ew, he just simply hates it all. The fattening food and the overpriced meals? even if the dollar menu is cheaper than crispers, fast food wont do him very well for practice. Least favorite Season: Summer he hates the boiling hot months, how his fur gets sticky with sweat and the ventures to the studio under the scalding sun burning him to a crisp. He much prefers cooler weather. Least favorite Song: Dynamite - By Taoi Cruz Its catchy and overplayed. It easily gets stuck in his head and because of that, he hates it with a passion. Least favorite Story Genre: Non-Fiction Non-fictions are interesting, but Dai finds them uninteresting and boring. Least favorite Subject: Science He’s never really grasped this subject in school nor does he understand it at all. His mother tried explaining it to him while she home schooled him but she eventually gave up, Dai was a hopeless cause when it came to Science. Least favorite TV show: Bones He hates shows where dead bodys are shown on screen, fake or not. He finds it extremely gross, especially when he watches TV while eating dinner sometimes. Least favorite Word: Tough He doesnt know why, he thinks its because his mother use to say tough to him when he argued with her and such. But one thing he does know is that word really bothers him. |
History:
Daisuke was born in Las Vegas, Nevada in an abandoned firehouse where his mother lived.
He remembers snuggling up to her in his first moments, her warm fur, her sweet scent. He was new life born into a old world. He didn’t know what his life would turn up like in his few moments, neither did his mother as they cuddled in the abandoned firehouse, under the glow of the moonlight that summer evening.,..
As a baby he was calm and happy, playful and tiny he always enjoyed venturing the abandoned building, with his mother close behind of course. He sometimes got into trouble but his mother was always there to help him out.
”Daisuke!” The baby plumie turned around, his little paw hovering over an rusted object he was about to look at. His mother strode to him and gently picked him up by the scruff of his neck away from the object. Daisuke struggled against his mom a little then went limp, decided not to fight back, for whatever he did to get him in trouble this time. His mother carried him into the other room into their nest of blankets and pillows they slept on every night and Dai looked down
"Yes mother?" "What did I tell you about touching those things Dai? You could get hurt" Shee stared at him worriedly, Dai looking up for a moment then opted staring at his paws again. "sorry mother…I just" He felt a muzzle lay on his head and give him a lick and he giggled his mom looking at his with her soft eyes. "I know…but please stay by the nest baby…you have a whole lifetime to explore those objects and this building…" Dai giggled again as she kissed him again and glanced outside at the setting sun. "And beyond?" He asked enthusiastically and his mother glanced at him again.
"Absolutely"
He was always into more girly things growing up. He had a love for pinks, flowers, hearts, dolls and such. And from an extremely young age, had a strong love for dancing, specifically Ballet..
An older but still child Daisuke stared into the window of the Dance Company’s front window, watching the teenage dancers in that class prance around practicing for their next concert. He always came here after school as he walks back home, watching them giving little Dai a thrill of excitement. While in a calm trance watching the dancers the door opened with a ring, an older plumie with soft eyes smiling at him. Dai was snapped from his trance and he backed away a little startled. “Hello little one, interested much?” she asked with a chuckle. Dai nodded shyly and she crouched down to his level with a soft smile. “Whats your name little one?” “D-Daisuke…” He mumbled looking down. She smiled and offered him her paw, “Here Dai, do you want to watch the dancers first hand? It’s a better veiw from inside” He perked up and looked at her happily nodding, “Y-yes! I would love that” The older plumie smiled and led him inside, the booming sound of classical muic filling his ears and some of the teens breaking stance to smile at the little plumie. Dai shyly waved at them and was sat down in one of the chairs, watching the older plumies turn to him one last time and smile “I’m miss Zelda, I’m the dance instructor. If you need anything please tell me” Dai nodded as she clapped her paws to attention and he watched from his chair excitedly.
After that invitation. Dai would come into the Dance Studio every day to watch the teens practice. It became a routine. And after a few months, Zelda offered him lessons. But his mother was poor and had hardly any money to pay for these Lessons. In return, Zelda offered a deal. Dai would come in everyday and clean the studio as a job, and he would receive ballet lessons in return. When his mother accepted, Dai was overjoyed. But his friends weren’t so accepting…
The little plumie skidded onto the playground toward his group of friends in his fifth grade class. He held a pair of ballet slippers he had just received from his new instructor Miss Zelda. The five friends glanced at him waving and then looked down at the slippers he was holding “What chu got there Dai?” “Are those girl slippers?” Dai giggled “I got lessons! I’m gonna be a dancer” One of his friends norted a little “Dai thats a girl thing!” One of his friends snatched the slippers from Dai’s paws and he growled “Hey give those back!”
"Aww their even pink, are these ballet slippers?" "Ballet is for girls~" "Are you a girl Dai?" Daisuke growled again and lunged at the other plumes holding back his new slippers laughing, Enjoying Dai’s distress. Dai felt tears brimming in his eyes as he began to chase the other plumies to retrieve his new slippers.
"Please give them back I need them!" Dai jumped as the slightly taller children threw around the slippers like a sack of potatoes.
"oops"
One of them, a girl he had thought was his best friend dropped the slippers into a mud puddle, the shiny pink satin being dirtied by the filth. Daisuke dropped down and picked up his now wet slippers dejectedly as he heard his friends laugh and run off away from him.
Dai was pulled out of public schooling after that, his mother not tolerating the betrayal his friends invoked. From then on Dai was home schooled in the firehouse by his mother, working everyday and in beginners ballet. Dai at this point in time didn’t socialize much, only talking with acquaintances from ballet (which consisted mostly of girls), His Mother, and his teacher.
"Dai"
Daisuke Sat in front of his mother smiling, opening his notebook. His mother brought out a text book smiling at him, “Chapter four Dai?” Dai nodded and began to read the passage out loud from his notes. Dai read through a few passages with help from his mother and then stopped to look up at her, “Mother?” His mom looked to him smiling “Yes Dai? what is it”. Daisuke shifted his weight a little, the tiny plume getting a bit fidgety “W-will I go back to school soon?” his mother looked to him frowning “Dai…we’ve been over this…” “I-I just want to see my friends again…” His mother paused as Daisuke closed his eyes for a bit in the silence and his mom chuckled “Baby, after the way they treated you their hardly your friends…” “But: His mom pulled him to her and shook her head laughing, tickling Dai a little, earning squeaks from the little plumie.
Dai spent most afternoons, even after his class had ended, sitting and watching the teens go through with their routine. The teens were extremely nice to the plumie, always cooing on how small and cute he was. Dai, having been diagnosed with PPS syndrome, didn’t really want to be called cute at times. Mostly because he was growing mentally into a teenager and didn’t feel like cute was the right for him at this point. He of course still had a fondness for girly things and such, but decided against showing it. Due to instances in the past after all…
"Aww Dai your too much of a cutie" Dai struggled as he was bombarded by his taller classmates, all the girls fawning over him teasingly. They all knew it annoyed him to the bone. But they all continued until class started non the less. Around two hours later after class, Dai sits in the studio waving at the girls as they all leave smiling. He use to not mind being fawning over, but as the other classmate are above him, he began to worry. Dai hastily picked up his things in the studio and shoved the slippers and slippers and tights into his bag and zipped it up, walking home, he looked around as some people looked at him in a certain way because of his size, aww? pity?
Dai didn’t know…
When Dai turned 14, he was placed into an intermediate ballet class by his instructor. Of course he never grew past his puppy body and he was much shorter than the other teens in his class that were his age.
"Ok 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ,8" Dai fought to keep up with his larger classmates, His movements were quick and steady as he danced among the girls as graceful as he could, without being stepped on. A girl next to him smirked and discreetly put out her foot, Dai, not looking, tripped, and face down to the ground. The girls stopped dancing and a few of them chuckled softly, disrupting the practice. "Enough! Ok girls stop right now!" The instructor charged into the center of the room, her eyes blazing as she helped Dai to his feet. "Who did this" She was met with silence, Dai glaring at the girl who tripped him earlier. "Well, if you wont speak up, then we’ll just have to keep all of you here longer" A collective groan sounded in the echoing room and Dai laughed a little, a few of the girls smiling apologetically at him while others glared daggers.
He struggled a little in the class however because of his small size, and that he was virtually the only male student. Dai, in his instructors eyes, was a brilliant student. But in his own mind, Dai was becoming questioning of how far he could actually push himself. Dai began to pull all nighters in his home, clearing a large space in the living area and practicing every chance he got after his mother’s schooling. soon however, his mother figured out what he was doing and Dai had to find a new area to practice everynight.
Dai was careful not to trip over anything in the garage as he hummed the tune silently, gliding across the floor. Practicing his routine was normal for him, but it was wasn’t normal at 1:00 in the morning. Which he was doing right now. He did this while his mother was sleeping in the house as silently as possible, not wanting to wake her up. He staggered as his foot hit a wire and he held his breath, listening in the silence for signs of any type of movement in the house. After a long five minutes of silence. he began to move again, retracing his steps delicately.
After a few years, Dai asked his instructor to recommend him for an advanced course, or even a company. However because of his size, Miss Zelda told him the truth. As a male dancer, his size makes it very hard for him to sustain in the ballet world. Of course, Dai-Dai was a bit stubborn and didn’t want to believe all she was saying. But after a slight realization, he began to wonder about himself. Could he really do this…He was 17.
Dai longingly looked up at the other dancers in a different way. He had grown up with these girls… all of them were the same age….that shouldn’t change, right? But somehow, he knew it was different…
Male Ballet dancers were strong, Most of them taller then the females…Dai was still the same size he was when he was in the third grade…Dai wasn’t strong….or so he thought he wasn’t… He needed to be a bit more optimistic…
But what if his instructor was right? what if his size will make it hard for him….but what could he do? all he wanted to do was dance…all he wanted…
it was his dream
Dai began to look into dance company’s around the country that have a chance of taking him in. Dai was refused at most of them, as expected, but one Dance company in New York City, Complextions. Dai was thrilled, and immediately after finishing school with his mom, set forth to New York to stride towards his dream.
He didnt want to leave his mom, but he had to leave the nest someday…
a few years later, his mother died in a plane crash. Dai now continues to dance in her honor…
a year later, he meets Alesky…who he now considers his baby brother. And meets other plumes such as Chase, Buziba, and irene who become his friends (or in Buzi’s case, enemy).
